Q: WHAT PRIMARY PHOTOGRAPHIC STYLE DO YOU IDENTIFY WITH?
A: Wedding photography is dynamic in the sense that we are able to blend multiple styles together throughout the day. However, we have fallen for natural lighting, timeless portraiture, and taking risks on creative dramatic elements.
Q: WHAT MAKES YOUR WORK DIFFERENT FROM OTHER PHOTOGRAPHERS' WORK?
A: We want to create together. That means it's not us doing all the work, but together, we create the images. We may have the camera in our hands, but ultimately the image is going to reveal who you were on your wedding day, one of the best days of your life. Our value of relational connection coupled with excellence in our work makes for a memorable partnership with us!
Q: How many photographers will there be at our wedding?
A: Teamwork makes the dream work... You will have two photographers, Ashley and me (Josh). In the rare case Ashley is unable to make it I have brilliant and talented second shooter friends ready to come capture your day with me.
Q: DO YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE SHOOTING IN VARIOUS LIGHTING SITUATIONS?
A: Every wedding has unique lighting situations which ultimately adds to the beauty of your day. We've shot outdoors in near pitch black, in darker chapels, under harsh sunlight, with various colored lighting from DJ's and odd venue lighting. You'll see below we bring external lighting to make sure poor lighting situations don't prevent from making great images.
Q: DO YOU HAVE A REPLACEMENT WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER IN CASE YOU BECOME UNAVAILABLE ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT?
A: Yes! We have many talented friends who are experienced in wedding photography that we can call on in the worst case scenarios.
Q: What equipment do you use and bring on wedding days?
A: We are Canon shooters and only use Apple products too, sorry Nikon and Microsoft. We shoot with 5D Mark III's, an array of Canon lenses (50mm/1.2, 35mm/1.4, 70-200mm/2.8, 24-105mm/4.0), up to eight external flashes, and have plenty of accessories.
q: Do you charge for travel?
A: We charge $.55/mile for travel beyond a 150 mile radius from Waco, accommodations may be requested as well at time of booking. (accommodations not required for most of the Dallas area... #in-laws)
Q: How do I reserve you for my date?
A: All dates are locked in with a deposit (30% of total) and a signed contract.
Q: What if we go over our contracted time on a portrait session and/or wedding day coverage?
A: Our standard rates apply for overtime. $250 per hour for the main shooter and $150 per hour for the second shooter on wedding days. Engagements and Bridal sessions are $150 per hour.
Q: is there a fee for using a credit card?
A: Yes, the retail adjustment fee of 3% of the charged amount for all credit cards will be added.
q: How do we receive the photos?
A: As soon as your photos are finished we upload them to our client website and send you a custom link, along with a pin for digital download.
Q: how soon can we expect our photos?
A: You will get your photos in 6-12 weeks. As soon as they are finished and uploaded to the site we will send you the link. It's like anticipating Christmas, but you don't have to watch other people open their gifts.. We have an expedited process available as well, ask us about it!
Q: What rights do we have with our digital photos?
A: You have the right to reprint images when you want. You are also free to post them on social media, with credit to us would be greatly appreciated! However you may not sell your images for profit or publish your images without written consent of Josh Morgan Creative.
Q: How many photos do you deliver?
A: For a two hour engagement session we typically give 50-100 photos. A bridal session is 40-75 photos. For an eight hour wedding day we promise 450+ and average giving back 80 photos per hour of shooting. The numbers vary on the flow of the day, number of events/activities needing to be captured and the weather conditions.
Q: how do you protect our images from being lost?
A: Fortunately we have never lost an image, much less an entire wedding. We shoot with CF cards (larger SD memory card), at the end of the day we copy the images to an external hard drive, that we bring with us, before we leave the location. The copy that remains on the card is stored in a waterproof case. Once we arrive home, we upload the RAW files to an online cloud based storage. At any given point we have your images backed up.
Q: What type of products do you have for printing and albums?
A: We have photo prints, canvases, mounted prints, photo albums, books, and we are in the process of developing custom made products as well. Personally, we love our products simply based on quality alone.
Q: Do you have insurance?
A: Yes! We have liability insurance and insurance on our equipment. Many venues require vendors to have liability insurance.
